Hallucenogenics
I'm pushing past my limit
Running out of time
As I race to remember who I am.
My class of screw up out here
Keeps crawling back to the lives we said we'd leave.
If you were looking to find someone clean
Someone who'd remember you,
A soul worth saving,
You've come to the wrong side of town.
And as I roll the windows down
Wave my fingers through the wind
I know that who I am now
Is just fine -
My shades of gray suit me.
And I may not be who you remembered,
But this soul of mine has always been stained
And I'm not ashamed of that anymore.
And if you can't accept that,
Maybe there's nothing to remember,
Maybe I'm not out of time,
Maybe I'll take another drag
Of whatever gets me high
And forget you were ever here.
