Nature's Bounty
Green giants tower above me,
Pine needles falling in my hair
As I glance across the bridge at you.
You smile over at me,
Your hat not quite blocking the sun
From melting the brown in your eyes
To pools of amber.
And I'm frozen for a moment
Stunned by you,
Not the forest surrounding us
Or the waterfall before us,
Or even the mountain we're climbing.
This,
You and me,
In our Pacific Northwest wonderland,
Is all I've ever wanted.
