Why is it that when I feel my heart breaking

My very foundation shaking

My mind splitting at the seams

Steady

Present.

You're my anchor,

My reminder that

Even after all these years.

Wind whipped by the sea

Burning beneath the desert sun

Or dodging raindrops in the forest

I can always come back to you 

And the life you begged me to live,

I'm living it now,
