Here She Comes Again
Your fingertips trail across my skin
Slow and gentle.
My neck arches
As my eyes drift closed.
You,
Only you,
Can do this to me.
Time stops
The world slows
In a different way than before.
The demons beneath my skin
They listen to you
As you lull them to sleep
With each pass of your hands.
The worries and fears
That live on a loop in my brain
They pause
As you ease their manic energy
With each touch of your lips.
The hurt and pain from the past
That eviscerate my heart at times
They soften
As you guide me
To you
To love
To patience
To understanding
With every whisper beside my ear.
I came to you
Half smiles on my lips
Worry in my heart
Pain in my eyes
As the storm raged within me.
You stepped in anyway
Dressed in black
No halo to be found
Drenching yourself in my storms
As you walked every corner and closet
Every alley way and dead end
Until you knew me
Fully.
Then you gave me you.
You held me tight
Showing me
All the ways I could trust you,
Never asking for it,
Showing it
Proving it.
You gave me new experiences
Showed me how you love
Gave me an entirely new world
To call my home.
You let me see you
Let me wander your soul
Trusting I wouldn't trample it.
The smiles are genuine now
The worry is less so
The pain nowhere to be found,
All thanks to you.
As you showed me how to love myself
By loving me so fully,
Even at my lowest,
That I finally saw my worth.
