All of Me
I was standing at work,
Minding my own,
When the song came on.
I paused,
My heart stopping in my chest,
As my brain caught up
With what my body already knew.
But then I wasn't at work anymore,
I was standing on a boat
Looking at the most beautiful spread
Of candles and petals.
And we were dancing,
You holding me
As though the breeze
Might blow me away.
And your cologne is there too,
Step for step with us,
Freedom in so many ways.
And I never knew this was our song,
Always thought tea was
The song.
But here I am,
Smiling at my desk
Remembering what it felt like
To sway on that boat
With both the waves and you,
And I can see us dancing at our wedding
To this.
Can see us dancing in our living room
When we're old and gray,
Still listening to her...
And there's nothing I want more.
